5 Oxford Restaurants for Graduation Dining
With graduation for most just around the corner, we thought it fitting to share our favourite places to dine in Oxford.
Now that the worry of deciding where to stay near Oxford has passed, let us tell you where you should dine as part of your graduation celebration…
The Oxford Kitchen
Once you’ve walked and collected your degree, then relaxed fine dining is on the cards. At The Oxford Kitchen, you can bring your loved ones together for some interesting and expertly presented dishes. According to The Daily Telegraph Weekend, the restaurant features “impeccably sourced, robust-tasting ingredients, simply and lucidly combined.” Menus include a very popular seasonal A La Carte as well as Chef’s Tasting. Expect the likes of Rabbit croquette, Gariguette strawberry, Scottish scallop, Charred mackerel and much, much more.
Head to Quod and you can sample delicious burgers, tender steaks and a variety of Italian dishes. Offering two spaces for private dining, the brasserie menu will appeal to a whole range of tastes – better still the interior is decorated with young British art that makes a great talking point during your meal.
The Folly is known for being a truly unique riverside restaurant. Boasting lovely views of the River Thames, all the dishes on offer are simply served but cooked to perfection. Each one is crafted from the freshest seasonal ingredients – just one reason why they won the Diner’s Choice Award in 2017. If you want an elegant evening meal to celebrate, you can take a table in the restaurant or experience one of their private dining cruises.
Turl Street Kitchen
Winner of the Diner’s Choice Award in 2018, Turl Street Kitchen’s menu regularly changes but in doing so, the team is able to offer the best local seasonal produce with a real twist of creativity. Community focussed, the food here is warming, filling and above all, delicious. Dishes include Roast Sandy Lane Chop and Warm Spiced Banana Cake.
Regularly proclaimed to be “Probably the best Thai food outside South-East Asia, perhaps even Thailand itself” Oli’s Thai is a nice change to traditional brasserie menus and better still, the whole atmosphere and environment from service to taste is evocative of the country. If your graduation celebration demands something a little different, and if you want to explore new flavour profiles then Oli’s Thai is the place to go but book a table quick – they are always booked!
