New Rooms and Shop Update
We’re set to be one of the most exciting places to stay in Abingdon, thanks to our refurbishment and imminent rebrand. Read on for an important bedroom and shop update.
Opening of the New Bedrooms
We cannot thank our guests enough for being patient throughout our refurbishment and rebranding. While we have kept any impact that could be made to guests at an absolute minimum, it has all been worth it – we are delighted to share that on the 28th September we opened 39 of our newly refurbished bedrooms. To see them for yourself, feel free to call into the hotel or to book your stay online.
The last of our original bedrooms have now been closed and made unavailable for booking, in preparation for the complete redevelopment as we get ready to adhere to new Hilton Garden Inn specifications. We are aiming for all bedrooms to be completed by the end of 2018 and we cannot wait for our guests to make full use of them.
With state of the art air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities and an in-room fridge you will have all you need for either a business or leisure stay. Depending on which space you book, rooms will either be fitted with a comfortable King, Queen and sofa or Twin bed. When we open the new building, we will have the chance to offer some luxurious suites that will give additional space to families, brides and guests who require ample space.
If you require suggestions or recommendations for the local restaurants, pubs or activities during your present stay with us we are happy to make suggestions. Our free parking and WIFI is still in effect and although we are unable to offer evening meals or meeting spaces, we think it is worth the wait to see the new Hilton branded hotel. To say thank you to our guests, we have a limited breakfast offer at present that is included in the room rate.
The Shop inside the hotel is a truly exciting prospect. It will be a retail space located between reception and the bar that can be tailored to our guest’s needs depending on the time of day or occasion. In the mornings we will offer coffee and croissants for those that want a “grab and go” option instead of a full breakfast. We know how busy our lifestyles can get! We are looking forward to being able to offer locally sourced items such as biscuits and even Cotswold Gin and Abingdon Ales from the Loose Cannon Brewery. As well as the usual hotel items such as toothpaste and phone chargers, The Shop will be a service to guests that they can make use of without the expense you may expect.
The rebrand is something the entire team is looking forward to. We aim to be an integral part of the community and have already started working with the local job centre to recruit from the local job market. As part of Hilton values we will be carrying out events in the community such as litter picks, supporting local organisations and being the heart of the community with weddings, funerals and local events.
No other hotels near Oxford boast such a local and eclectic offering. We look forward to welcoming you when the shop opens.
